Favorite Destination:

As a long time world traveler and content creator, I get this question a lot. It’s difficult to pick favorites, especially since the more of the world I see, the harder it gets.
I’m currently living in New Zealand and love it here. I also lived in San Sebastián, Spain for two years and that’s definitely one of my favorite spots.
My wife has family in Italy and we visited them then did a road trip through rural Tuscany in the early spring, getting lost in the mountains and finding hidden hot springs, eating insanely delicious pastas and local cheeses, and washing it all down with some of the best wines in the world in villages like Pienza and Montepulciano.
That’s got to be up there as one of my favorites, and I’m so happy to be able to share my itinerary in a detailed Thatch guide.

Top Recommendation:

As a student of History and Cultural Anthropology, I’m fascinated by the wide array of people in the world and the events that shaped their lifestyles, cuisines, and worldview.
I always encourage people to step outside of their comfort zone and engage with the local culture. By all means see the sights, but don’t forget to take time to experience how the locals live.
Visit a local market, head to a holy place, get up early and watch the city or village as it wakes up and people go about their daily lives. And don’t forget to bring your camera. Some of the most memorable photographs I’ve taken have been from doing just that.

Travel tip you swear by:

Do your research on time differences between your home and your destination and get your body clock adjusting before you leave.
Also, I always love to get a run in on my first morning in a new destination, it’s a great way to kick the jet lag, get some exercise, and experience the lay of the land in a new place.
You can find a lot more of my travel tips on my YouTube channel.
